The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) is a required exam that tests the applicant's knowledge of the canons of legal ethics.

Applicants for the bar must have obtained a passing scaled score on the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) before applying to sit the bar examination. The passing scaled score currently is 85 or greater.
