SCHOLARSHIPS

THE LAWRENCE BAR ASSOCIATION
The Lawrence Bar Association is pleased to offer scholarships to law students who are from Lawrence, Methuen, North Andover, and Andover, Massachusetts. The scholarships are awarded by the Bar Association at the annual law day luncheon.

THOMAS MCGOVERN EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP(S)
Applicants for the scholarships are to be graduates of educational institutions located in Bristol County Massachusetts, with preference to graduates of the following high schools, in the order named:

1. Joseph Case High School, Swansea, Massachusetts;
2. Parochial High Schools of Bristol County;
3. Somerset High School, Somerset, Massachusetts; and
4. Fall River High Schools, Fall River, Massachusetts.

In addition, high school graduates who have been members of the youth division of the Fall River YMCA for three years may apply. Mr. McGovern and his family will participate actively in the selection process with the Fall River Bar Association. The First Justice of the Bristol County Probate and Family Court will participate when possible.

When a selection is made by the Fall River Bar Association they are to give notice to the first or Chief Justice of the Bristol County Probate and Family Court and recipients of the scholarship funds will be requested to, when qualified, in the opinion of the First Justice of the Court, volunteer for at least three pro bono cases for Bristol County Probate and Family Court.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR MASSACHUSETTS STUDENTS WITH A PHYSICAL DISABILITY

The John J. Ingalls Memorial Scholarship “$5,000 Scholarship Award”

The John J. Ingalls Memorial Scholarship, administrated by United Cerebral Palsy of MetroBoston, Inc., will award $5000 scholarships for college bound high school seniors, and current undergraduate and graduate students, residing in the State of Massachusetts, and diagnosed with a physical disability. The scholarship committee will award up to three applicants per year an unrestricted amount of $5,000 to be used towards tuition at an accredited college or university.

United Cerebral Palsy of MetroBoston, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to advance the independence of people with disabilities. The scholarship is named after Mr. John J. Ingalls, a Massachusetts resident, who through his generosity established this scholarship in his will.

The application deadline is April 13, 2007. The application can be obtained by calling 617-926-5480 or accessing the website at www.ucpboston.org.
