The names of the three judges who will hear the NFL’s appeal of Judge Berman’s Deflategate ruling were released today, and two of them — Robert A. Katzmann and Denny Chin — were appointed by Democratic presidents.
Dean of Massachusetts School of Law Michael Coyne says this is “very good news” for Tom Brady.
“A liberal court is more likely to favor labor as opposed to management,” said Coyne. “At least two of the judges likely have liberal leanings as respect to that, and the third having been initially appointed by Clinton, may as well. This is a good victory for Brady. It’s still early in the process, but a good victory for Tom here today.”
